The Economic Impact of Residential New Construction in Bloomington-Normal Area

Special thanks to Dr. Elliot Eisenberg, a Senior Economist from National Association of Home Builders for his informative presentation on the Economic Impact of Residential New Construction in Bloomington-Normal Area. Dr. Eisenberg started his day with an interview with Cities 92.9 FM, then a presentation to our Student Chapter at Illinois State University. Another interview with the radio and The Pantagraph and then the BNAHBA presentation that evening. We had 148 attend this event and we could not have received better comments from those that attended. We look forward to having Dr. Eisenberg back in a couple years for more housing discussions.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear the results of a study compiled by Dr. Elliot Eisenberg, Senior Economist, National Association of Home Builders. He will focus on the income, jobs and taxes produced by the home building industry in the Bloomington-Normal area. Home building generates substantial local economic activity, including new income and jobs for residents, and additional revenue for local governments. Dr. Eisenberg's report captures the effect of the construction activity itself, the ripple impact that occurs when income earned from construction activity is spent and recycles in the local economy. In addition, the ongoing impact resulting from new homes becoming occupied by residents who pay taxes and buy locally produced goods and services.
